The QIM manual is available for the fish sector in 11 European languages (English, Dutch, Icelandic, Danish, Italian, Portugese, Greek, German, Norwegian, Spanish and French).

After a general introduction to sensory evaluation the Quality Index Method is explained in detail. All available QIM schemes and relevant high quality photographs of attributes are presented in the manual. QIM calibration curves offers the opportunity to estimate the remaining shelflife on basis of a QIM assessment. Furthermore guidelines for sensory evaluation, sample preparation, selection and training of panellists are given. The QIM schemes for the following fish species are in the manual:
